UPCOMING EVENT
Carry The Weight 24 | 24 Hours for Suicide Prevention
Saturday, September 26 – Sunday, September 27, 2026 · 12:00 PM to 12:00 PM
Start: Camp Pendleton (Main Gate) → Finish: VA Hospital, La Jolla, CA
A continuous 24-hour walk uniting veterans, active duty, first responders, and community in the fight against suicide. Walk a shift, support a walker, or sponsor the mission — because no one walks alone.
The weight is real. So is the help.
Carry The Weight 24 is a 24-hour walk for suicide prevention — veterans, active duty, families, first responders, and community moving together, mile by mile, from Camp Pendleton to the VA Hospital in La Jolla. It’s OK to ask for help.
This walk carries real weight.
Every walker steps in for someone we’ve lost or someone still fighting. This is where awareness turns into conversation, and conversation turns into support.
Same fight. Brighter tomorrow.
There’s a place on this route for you — as a walker, a sponsor, or someone cheering the line on. Join a team, walk a single shift, or support a walker making the full 24 hours.
“Some battles are heavy, but together we carry them.”
— David Fletes, U.S. Marine Veteran, Realtor® & Founder
One route. Twenty-four hours.
The walk moves as one continuous relay from Camp Pendleton south to the VA Hospital in La Jolla — day into night into day, with walkers trading shifts the entire way. Start: Saturday, 12:00 PM. Finish: Sunday, 12:00 PM.
